Time for text

As I finish up the animation of my hand (and need a break from experimenting with the parenting function), I've been brainstorming ideas for a text animation. This part has actually got me really excited. I came across a tutorial which demonstrates how to create a text shattering effect that would look something like this...


He does a really good job of breaking the process down into very simple terms and showing the problems you may come across. It looks to be a bit difficult but many of the techniques it uses we've come across before, such as creating rigid bodies and using gravity. The narrator says at the end that part of the reason it's so complicated is that Maya isn't the best program from creating 3D text but I think I might give it a try anyway.

I'm excited to see what text animations everyone comes up with!
